Minister of State for Education, Nick Gibb, gives a speech about the importance of high-quality text books - I totally agree with him.

I've written about this (below) and also linked this to the lack of content in much of the phonics and spelling provision that has arisen in England because of dressing phonics and spelling up with needless 'fun games and activities':
