NEW BOOKMARKS - featuring graphemes throughout the programme

Post by debbie »

BOOKMARKS

There are several different BOOKMARKS available to print throughout the programme. These useful resources can be used as ‘bookmarks’ and also for supporting the teaching and learning of letter/s-sound correspondences (from print-to-sound for a reading sub-skill and from sound-to-print for a spelling sub-skill). Print on paper, or card - or laminate paper copies for additional durability.

Different style BOOKMARKS are in the following units:

unit 1 - graphemes from unit 1 and unit 2

unit 2 - graphemes from unit 1 to unit 4

unit 4 - graphemes from unit 1 to unit 5 plus a few from unit 6

unit 5 - graphemes from unit 1 to unit 6 but excluding single letters

- graphemes from unit 1 to unit 6 plus a few from unit 7

unit 7 - graphemes from unit 7 to unit 9

unit 8 - graphemes from unit 7 to unit 12

unit 10 - graphemes from unit 10 to unit 12

There is considerable overlap of featured graphemes on these bookmarks.

Teachers, therefore, need to make decisions about suitability for their learners.

These BOOKMARKS are also suitable for simple spelling/writing prompts in the early stages of learning to write.

I think these are great Debbie thanks. I'm going to laminate some and put them in the writing area so that the children have a visual reminder when they are roleplaying etc. I'm also going to laminate them to put on the tables for the children to use in their independent writing.
They're a really fab size!

Cheers m'dears.

You're welcome!

Don't forget to slip one for each child in their reading book which goes to and fro' home!

If you write their name on the space provided (right of the word 'bookmark'), and you collect books for changing in the morning in a little tub, you can see which book belongs to whom really easy if the bookmarks are the right way up inside the books. Also, if 'readers' are called out to be heard individually, this is a really useful management system.
