On the Phonics International 'Free Resources' page, we now have three papers and articles (shown together in one of the pale blue boxes) which parents might find include useful information - two of which comment on the Year One Phonics Screening Check which is statutory in England for children to undertake at the end of Year One (when most of the children are six years old):

I attended the Westminster Education Forum Seminar on assessment on behalf of the UK Reading Reform Foundation and submitted the following written response (as these get published with the transcript of the event) to specific questions raised about the Year One Phonics Screening Check:
