I am in the process of finalising alternative ALPHABETIC CODE FRIEZE POSTERS to upload on the USA/Canada webpage. These should be ready shortly.

Phonics International is an extremely comprehensive and extensive basic skills literacy programme. In the scale of the whole Phonics International programme, the vast majority of the resources are already suitable for the USA/Canadian students. Occasionally, teachers may need to point out the differences between British vocabulary and spelling and USA/Canadian vocabulary and spelling and make minor adaptations.

I thought this would be a good link to add here.

Teachers need to address regional spelling and accent as necessary as they proceed through the programme - bringing their own knowledge and experience to bear.

Alternative ALPHABETIC CODE FRIEZE POSTERS are now uploaded on the USA/Canada webpage.

Please note that we have uploaded them as one pdf of 13 posters per region.

There is a separate pdf file for the USA and Canada to address the spellings of 'humor/humour', 'theater/theatre' and 'vogue catalog/catalogue'.

I have been consulting with several people in the USA, Canada and England to make a version of THE ALPHABETIC CODE OVERVIEW CHARTS specific to the USA and Canada.

My thanks to everyone who has helped, particularly Corina Koch MacLeod who is a Reading Instructor at Queen’s University in Canada. :D

Update:

We have created a purpose-built site to focus on the provision of Alphabetic Code Charts at:

www.alphabeticcodecharts.com

There are five further charts completed for North America (slight adaptations of the original English versions) which are due to be uploaded on to the site above very shortly.

These include the student-teacher chart, the 'teaching points' chart, two versions of 'mini' charts and a 'colour in' tracking chart!

:D
