Nick Gibb MP, who has done so much for improved reading instruction in England, has been replaced in Prime Minister Boris Johnson's cabinet re-shuffle (September 2021).

I have written about this development - linked to further threads with a lot of information about Nick Gibb and his contribution to education - here:

In England, we have to be very grateful for Nick Gibb's support and actions over many years.

England is world-leading when it comes to official guidance and governmental support for research-informed reading instruction which includes specific promotion of 'systematic synthetic phonics' programmes.
