QT:' Is it wrong to teach children how to hold a pencil?'

Teacher-blogger, Quirky Teacher, questions the early years 'lore' about waiting for children to be developmentally ready to hold a pencil with the tripod grip. Does it naturally evolve or do we need to teach it specifically - and when?
