Now 'Phonics by Phone in Uganda'!

Follow heartwarming descriptions of school-based projects in Africa and India where we are exploring the use of the Phonics International programme - particularly the Early Years Starter Package and the 'Series of 8 eBooks' in paper format - alongside a central 'giant' Alphabetic Code Chart. Where there is no internet and very few resources, how can children still get a first class education in reading, spelling and handwriting instruction? The 'Series of 8 eBooks' are purpose-designed as both teaching and learning 'pick-up-and-go' books - shared equally between teachers and learners.

Now 'Phonics by Phone in Uganda'!

News of an exciting development for the 'Phonics by Phone' project initiated by Educators International:

UPDATE: Like many projects and contacts in life, we don't always keep up with them all. The link below leads to a blog post at the International Foundation for Effective Reading Instruction which provides a snippet of information about the original 'Phonics by Phone' project in Uganda - a reflection of events at the time. Sadly, I don't know how this project developed beyond its initial introduction but we tried our best to support the people involved with a slightly modified Alphabetic Code Chart and content for multiple phonics lessons which were modified by Sheena Campbell for the Ugandan context:
