It is the saddest irony that the Government in England was influenced by the Scottish 'Clackmannanshire' research (Johnston and Watson) and yet Scotland itself remains largely eclectic (not systematic synthetic phonics) in its approach to reading instruction. _________________ Debbie Hepplewhite |
