What is so scary is that Reading Recovery is still going strong - internationally - to this day.

Nothing seems able to challenge this - and our teachers are being mistrained and our children mistaught.

There is nothing to support multi-cueing reading strategies and these strategies are damaging as a method to train teachers in and as an approach to teach children.

There are substantial problems with Reading Recovery that do not warrant its strong advocacy. Moreover, there are better (more effective and far less expensive) ways to accomplish the objective of trying to ensure that all students become proficient readers. With that in mind, here's an overview.
