Launch Sept 2016: My work as 'No Nonsense Phonics Skills'

Post by debbie »

This is a very exciting development - content-rich phonics and language comprehension books - including spelling word banks.

Phonics International Ltd is working in association with Raintree to produce a streamlined series of 9 Pupil Books (accompanying Teacher Books will also be available) with supplementary resources on a USB Stick.

Here's a little 'taster' - video footage of a Year One class trialling the resources when they were in development:

Read Abi's review of the video footage!

This is a great review for professional development.

I've developed a thread dedicated to the No Nonsense Phonics Skills Starter Kit which now includes an audio-video with information that is sufficiently detailed to be classed as 'training' for use in the resources, see here:

You can now go straight to this page on my phonicsintervention.org website where there is a full description of the 'No Nonsense Phonics Skills' resources via the video plus PowerPoints for information and training - including an audio version of my information PowerPoint and a PowerPoint designed by an Assistant Headteacher, Jamie Hallums, in a school in London:

I'm so pleased to say that a number of schools are using both the Phonics International resources and the No Nonsense Phonics Skills resources in a complementary way - and some schools have moved on from using No Nonsense Phonics Skills as intervention resources (for special needs and/or targeted support) and are now adopting it for whole school use as the books proved to be so effective with the slower-to-learn children!

Here is an online example of (most of) the Teacher Book for Pupil Book 2. The other Teacher Books follow this format. Each Teacher Book can 'stand alone' and is also part of a cohesive whole:
