Very exciting - launch of a new organisation: IFERI !!!

Post by debbie »

I have exciting news about the launch of a new organisation and website - the International Foundation for Effective Reading Instruction - IFERI.

Gordon Askew has blogged about the new international organisation here:

http://ssphonix.blogspot.co.uk
Anyone interested in reading the thoughts on this blog is strongly recommend to keep a regular eye on the website of IFERI (www.iferi.org ).

Phonics is not just a national issue for us here in the UK. Supporting the optimum number of children to read the English language fluently and confidently is an international issue. Although I thought I already had a fair picture of what is happening overseas, since being involved as a member of IFERI I have been amazed at the synergy between our situation and that of so many other countries worldwide.
So, do check out IFERI's site and please feel free to contribute to its message forum:

It's great to see how the Learning Difficulties Australia folk describe IFERI in their eNewsletter - I've posted a message on the IFERI forum where you can view the eNewsletter feature here:

http://www.iferi.org/iferi_forum/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=65

I do hope folk will support us via the IFERI site - remember we actually have a 'supporters' section - both organisations and individuals here:

http://www.iferi.org/supporters/

And the latest new feature is a page for IFERI 'Inform' factsheets here:

http://www.iferi.org/iferi-inform-factsheets/

Please don't do 'nothing', do 'something' to be supportive as we advocate for all stakeholders across the world. :D
